Cocoa Purchasing Financing, Cocobod, Ghana (2024)C

VCM through partnership with Soley Advisory Group Ghana Ltd. provided Cocobod a financial model that fundamentally revised the mechanism established and in use for more than 42 years to finance the purchase of cocoa beans. Cocobod is Ghana's state regulatory body with a responsibility, among other things, to purchase, market and export cocoa and cocoa products produced in Ghana. The approach that was proposed involved a compulsory deposit from buyers of forward contracts. It was adopted and executed in 2024.
